SFFMG related investigations/intel holds that, so-called, "travel" companies in South Florida are not interested in simply being "Sellers of Travel", the hangups they get on their call center telemarketers, the constant "no I'm not interested in what your selling" consumer replies, and the chargebacks/same day cancels are too high in this 2025 day and age. It's not generally profitable anymore, and has too much liability and loss for Sellers of Travel! So the call center sharks (business owners) of South Florida are on a different trend... Travel Collections Scams.

The trend is to do collections, tell consumers they owe money or have certain obligations due to previous transactions they've claim the consumers have made with their company, or a company they say they own the rights to, and to target the mentally disabled and senior citizens (especially those with dementia), and transact them over and over again in a predatorial way (multiple times a year), charging these seniors and mentally disabled hundreds -to- thousands of dollars a year money they are told they owe for various reasons, using numerous types of unconscionable, deceptive, fraudulent, and most extreme business practices and threats.

Our investigative findings and the abuse we see of Senior Citizens is heartbreaking. Recently, one Senior explained to an SFFMG economic crime related investigator that a number of companies that she "got tricked" into buying Vacation Packages with over the years, thinking, as they initially told her, they were the same company (the original company she bought a Vacation Package from years ago), but, it turned out, we're misleading her, by deceptive business practices, into paying them again and again, threatening her a.) they would ruin her credit if she didn't pay, b.) take her to court and suit her, some even c.) threatening that she might end up in jail if she no shows court, once the lawsuit was filed, and d.) one even went as far as telling her that their corporation did whatever it wants in Florida (a republican, business protecting state) and that they were gangster and could getaway with breaking her 80 year old legs, and, from what they had seen of the Florida Government, no Florida Law Enforcement Agency would be coming after them. She we on to tell SFFMG that 1.) she was in fear, as 2.) she had worked her whole life to build her perfect credit, and that 3.) she always paid what she owed in life, but she was now struggling to pay her bills; 4.) these scam, telemarketing travel entities and businessmen had taken all of her money in the last several months; and 4.) that she was reduced to a meager quality/standard of living where she had to buy ramen noodles for the first time in her life, as that's all she could afford. 5.) Reportedly, until us she was too ashamed to tell friends, family, or report the scammers that had taken virtually all of her life savings, worried her family would try to force her into an elderly care home.

These unconscionable and criminal trade practices are done through call centers rife with substance abuse, by addicts that go to these extremes largely because they are desperate to get any/all monies they can to support their drug habits.
